DOA stands for Dead on Arrival. It is the biggest risk in worldwide live ornamental fish export from Thailand. No exporter can guarantee 0% DOA because live animals face temperature change, transit delay, and ammonia during air cargo transport.

Main Causes of DOA During Transport

Temperature Shock: Cargo hold temperature changes during transit. This is the number one cause of DOA.
Ammonia Buildup: Fish excrete ammonia during flight. Without 48-hour fasting and conditioning, ammonia kills fish in bag.
Low Oxygen: Wrong oxygen to water ratio and overcrowding cause suffocation.
Shared AWB Risk: Shared AWB mixes your boxes with other exporters, causing delay and mishandling.

48-Hour Conditioning: All fish are fasted and conditioned in clean water for 48 hours. This reduces ammonia to zero.
IATA LAR Packing: We use double thick PE bags, correct oxygen ratio, premium foam box, and heat pack or cold pack based on season.
Correct Packing Density: We never overcrowd to save freight. Betta 1 per bag, Guppy max 20 per bag, Cichlid depends on size and flight time.
Real House AWB: We use real house AWB, not shared AWB. Your shipment has its own AWB number for faster handling and low mortality.

We provide video of packing for every box. We share AWB and flight details before cargo departs. DOA claim requires clear video evidence on arrival.
