IATA LAR is worldwide standard for live ornamental fish air cargo. At AquaBridge Thailand, Bangkok, we use double PE bags, oxygen:water 2:1, premium foam box, heat/cold pack, and Live Animals label. Real house AWB only. Prevents temperature shock and ammonia for low mortality. Service only.
What is IATA LAR Packing for Live Fish?
IATA LAR stands for International Air Transport Association Live Animals Regulations. It is the worldwide standard for packing live ornamental fish for air cargo export. All airlines check IATA LAR packing before accepting live fish cargo from Thailand.
AquaBridge Thailand IATA LAR Packing System - Real Operations
At AquaBridge Thailand, Bangkok - Thailand, we pack with IATA LAR standard from real operations:
Double Thick PE Bags: We use double thick bags, not single. Inner bag holds fish and water, outer bag is protection. We tie with rubber band, no metal clip.
Correct Oxygen Ratio: We use oxygen to water ratio 2:1. Two parts oxygen, one part water. For long flights to USA, we increase oxygen to 3:1 for Betta and Cichlid.
Premium Foam Box: We use high-density foam box, not cheap foam. Thick wall keeps temperature stable. Box size is based on volumetric weight to save your freight cost.
Heat Pack and Cold Pack: For winter to USA and EU, we add heat pack. For summer to Middle East, we add cold pack. We check transit temperature before packing.
IATA LAR Labeling: Every box has Live Animals label, This Side Up label, Shippe's Name, Consignee Name, AWB number, and quantity. This is required by IATA LAR.
What is Not Allowed in IATA LAR Packing?
No newspaper inside foam box. It causes ammonia.
No overcrowding. Packing density must be low.
No shared AWB boxes. Real house AWB only.
Why IATA LAR Packing Prevents DOA
Correct IATA LAR packing prevents temperature shock, ammonia buildup, and low oxygen. It is the main reason our multi-farm consolidation has low mortality. We provide video of packing for every box. Service only.
