Real export packing setup for live ornamental fish uses high-density foam box, double thick PE bags, oxygen to water ratio 2:1, and heat pack or cold pack. AquaBridge Thailand in Bangkok uses IATA LAR packing and real house AWB for low mortality. Service only.
Foam Box and Oxygen System: Real Export Packing Setup from Bangkok
Many new importers ask why our foam box price is higher than cheap exporters. At AquaBridge Thailand, Bangkok - Thailand, we use real export packing setup, not cheap setup that causes DOA.
1. High-Density Foam Box - Not Cheap Foam
Cheap foam box has thin wall 1 cm, low density, breaks easily. Temperature goes through in 4 hours. Our foam box is high-density, thick wall 2 cm, premium grade. It keeps temperature stable for 40+ hours flight to USA. This prevents temperature shock, the number one cause of DOA.
Size Calculation: We calculate foam box size based on volumetric weight to save your freight cost. Small box saves freight but needs correct density.
No Newspaper: We never use newspaper inside foam box. Newspaper causes ammonia buildup and kills fish. We use clean foam only.
2. Double Thick PE Bags - Not Single Bag
Single thin bag can burst during handling. We use double thick PE bags, inner bag and outer bag. Inner bag holds fish, water, and oxygen. Outer bag is protection. We tie with rubber band, no metal clip, as required by IATA LAR. Metal clip can puncture bag.
3. Oxygen System - Correct Ratio is Key
Oxygen to water ratio is the most important part to prevent DOA.
Standard Ratio 2:1: Two parts oxygen, one part water. For most flights to EU and Asia.
Long Flight Ratio 3:1: For flights over 20 hours to USA, we use 3:1 for Betta, Cichlid, Goldfish, and large fish. More oxygen for long flight.
Medical Grade Oxygen: We use medical grade oxygen, not air from air pump. Air pump has only 21% oxygen. Our oxygen is 95%+ pure oxygen.
4. Heat Pack and Cold Pack System
Heat Pack: For winter export to USA and EU (Nov-Mar), cargo hold can drop to 5°C. We add 72-hour heat pack to keep box at 24-26°C.
Cold Pack: For summer export to Middle East (Jun-Aug), we add cold pack to keep box at 26-28°C.
Season Check: We check transit and destination temperature before packing every shipment.
5. IATA LAR Labeling and Sealing
Every foam box is sealed with strong tape and has IATA LAR labels: Live Animals label, This Side Up label, Shipper Name, Consignee Name, AWB number, and box number (1 of 5). This is required by airline and prevents mishandling.
At AquaBridge Thailand, we provide video of packing for every box. We combine multi-farm orders into one fully documented shipment with low mortality using real house AWB. Service only.
